Our Story

Established in 2013, Unique Diamond Acquisitions spent over 13 years building a reputation for sourcing and supplying exceptional investment grade Argyle diamonds to clients worldwide.

As markets evolve and our clients seek access to a broader range of tangible investment opportunities, we have expanded our expertise beyond rare diamonds. Today, as Unique Asset Acquisitions, we offer carefully selected investment grade diamonds, fine art and rare whisky—providing clients with access to some of the world’s most sought-after alternative assets.

Diversification is a fundamental principle of long-term collecting — adding alternative assets to a portfolio can help reduce overall risk and volatility by providing exposure to asset classes that may perform differently from traditional financial markets.

These established asset classes have historically demonstrated strong long-term performance and, in some market conditions, have outperformed traditional assets such as property.

Whilst the name and nature of our business has evolved, our commitment to integrity, expertise and personalised service remains at the heart of everything we do.

Why Choose Unique Asset Acquisitions

Through our trusted global network of partners, we offer access to carefully curated collections of premium tangible assets, including whisky, diamonds, and fine art. These established asset classes have historically demonstrated strong long-term performance and, in some market conditions, have outperformed more familiar or traditional asset classes.

Many of the alternative asset collecting opportunities we offer are exempt from Capital Gains Tax (CGT), providing an additional tax-efficient benefit where applicable. As tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change over time, we always recommend seeking independent financial advice before making any collecting decision.

Tangible Assets. Long-Term Perspective.

Luxury assets such as rare art, whisky, wine, diamonds and classic cars occupy a distinctive place within the world of alternative assets. For collectors, their appeal extends beyond financial considerations: they are tangible, scarce, and culturally significant assets that can be enjoyed, collected and, in some circumstances, passed from one generation to the next.

For some collectors, selected tangible assets may also form part of a broader diversification strategy. Their performance can be influenced by different factors from traditional financial markets, although no alternative asset is entirely independent of wider economic conditions and no asset can guarantee protection against inflation or loss of value.

A Long-Term Approach to Wealth

In an environment increasingly driven by short-term market movements, UAA takes a longer-term view.

The history of collecting demonstrates that exceptional assets can remain desirable across generations. Rare artworks, sought-after whiskies, fine wines, exceptional diamonds and significant classic cars can possess qualities that extend beyond their immediate market value: scarcity, provenance, craftsmanship, cultural relevance and enduring demand.

Our approach is therefore centred on ownership rather than speculation.

We believe the most considered collectors look beyond short-term price movements. They understand what they are buying, why it is desirable, where it is held, how ownership is documented and what factors may influence its future value.

Looking Beyond Traditional Assets

When considering how to allocate wealth, traditional assets such as equities and bonds naturally form an important part of the conversation. However, sophisticated collectors may also consider alternative assets as a way of broadening their exposure beyond conventional financial instruments.

Tangible assets can offer a different collecting proposition. They are physical, finite and often connected to established collecting communities and specialist markets.

This does not make them inherently superior to traditional assets. Rather, their distinctive characteristics mean they may have a place alongside a diversified collecting strategy for collectors who understand the risks, costs and liquidity considerations involved.

The Opportunity in Alternative Assets

The alternative-asset market encompasses a wide range of opportunities, from contemporary and modern art to rare whisky, fine wine, diamonds and classic cars.

Each market has its own dynamics, risks and considerations. Successful collecting therefore requires more than simply identifying an asset that appears desirable. It requires research, specialist knowledge, careful acquisition and an understanding of provenance, authenticity, condition, storage, insurance, liquidity and potential resale demand.

At UAA, we believe that informed ownership is the foundation of successful collecting.

Our role is to provide clients with access to carefully considered opportunities while maintaining a clear focus on transparency, ownership, security and long-term value.

The objective is not to chase the next market trend. It is to acquire exceptional assets with a clear understanding of what makes them desirable today — and what may allow them to remain desirable for generations to come.

Our Events

Unique Asset Acquisitions regularly meets collectors at the Royal Elizabeth Bond HMRC bonded warehouse, giving them the opportunity to experience first-hand how their whisky is stored and matured.

We believe transparency is incredibly important within the cask whisky sector, which is why we encourage both existing and prospective collectors to register their details for the opportunity to join us on one of our visits. It’s a fantastic day and a great opportunity to see and taste your casks, learn more about storage conditions and the maturation process, meet other collectors and share knowledge with our team.

Luxury Collections: An Alternative Path to Wealth

Traditional investment avenues, such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, are well established and widely used. However, investors seeking greater diversification and the potential to enhance their portfolios may wish to consider luxury assets as an alternative. Luxury investments can provide an opportunity to preserve and grow wealth by accessing markets that have historically been associated with high-net-worth investors.

Rare collectibles—including precious stones, fine wine, whisky, and art—are at the heart of the luxury investment market. Their value is often influenced by scarcity, provenance, craftsmanship, historical significance, and emotional appeal. While these assets can generate substantial returns over time, investing successfully requires a strong understanding of the market, careful research, and informed decision-making.

Long-Term Perspective

Luxury investments typically require a long-term approach. Their value may take time to appreciate, making patience and discipline essential. Investors should also be prepared to withstand short-term market fluctuations and focus on the underlying rarity, quality, and long-term demand for the asset.
